Dear Friends,
Have you ever used a coupon on a first date? Or has your date?
I was recently asked to chime in with some advice for this story in Marketwatch.
The fun surprise was when the story came out, it was my friend (and Your Financial Therapist) Erika Wasserman who had had this experience!
“I was shocked and taken off guard that the first impression he wanted to leave me with was that I wasn’t worth the full value of the meal. It did leave a bad impression that a decade later I can still recall the date,” she told the reporter.
That said, she may now be in the minority.
A majority of people think it’s perfectly fine to use a coupon on the first date. according to a recent Savings.com survey.
Who knew!
Check out the story yourself for my advice on the best way to handle it if you do want to use a coupon- and not risk offending your date before you know where they stand.
The book I’m most excited about right now is..
I love it most for YOU because it was actually written for financial professionals but is available to all of us!
In other words, we get all the intel the pros do.
I met my friend, Cary Carbonaro almost a decade ago when our first books were coming out. Even then I knew she was the real deal.
Just a few highlights about Cary:
25 years of experience as a Certified Financial Planner™
She leads a multimillion-dollar financial planning practice focused on empowering women at Ashton Thomas
Author of the bestselling book The Money Queen’s Guide
Named to Investopedia’s Top 100 Financial Advisors list six times
The only female member of the 2024 Nasdaq Advisor Council
Women and Wealth: A Playbook to Empower Clients and Unlock Their Fortune covers everything from unconscious bias and "bro culture" to how communication styles, health, and life transitions impact financial decisions.
Cary uses real-world case studies, behavioral finance insights, and communication strategies, to show how to take control of our financial futures with clarity and confidence.
PS. Please leave a review if you like the book. It’s not just nice to let Cary know how wonderful she is. It also helps lift the book up in the search engines.
