The secret in your credit card bill
And how to make peace with the money lies we tell ourselves
Dear Friends,
I like to think of myself as an honest person. I try to tell the truth and in the times that I don’t, I like to think it is for things like sparing someone else’s feelings, or because the ENTIRE truth is just a bit TMI. So, for example, just saying I have a conflict when I don’t want to say yes to something just because I would rather not. And like most of you, I don’t take that too seriously.
But when I look at my credit card bill, all the secrets come out. That pastry I “secretly” bought when I was having a particularly rough day (or just gave in to a craving)…it’s on there. As are things I’m just not going to share with all of you. But the list of transactions does not lie and it keeps me from lying to myself about those things I know better than to buy.
I recently spoke with Heather Sullivan from Fox 26 in Houston for her new show Dollars and Sense. Some highlights included:
What to do now to be ready for 2024
Why you should leverage your credit card statements to reveal hidden-in-plain-sight spending
How to figure out your own financial priorities
Stock market and investing strategies
Easy, painless money saving tips
Federal student loan repayment options
End of year preparation gameplan
The whole program is great and worth watching. If you do want to skip ahead, my segment starts about 22 minutes in…
“Financial Wellness” isn’t just getting more buzz these days. It’s the third most important benefit for employees after healthcare and remote work. Employees even ranked it higher than other benefits such as vacation days and professional development, according to Benefits Pro.
But according to SHRM, employee financial wellness is at an all-time low.
Let’s do something about it.
Financial Wellness Strategies programs are ready to go and customizable, entertaining, engaging and easy to fit into your schedule — making them the perfect solution.
In my FWS workshops, I will remove stigmas, address financial pain points, present strategies, and help attendees find the right path to their personal financial goals.
All programs are live, interactive and available in-person and/or virtually.
